यूपीआई सुरक्षा — घर के हर सदस्य के लिए
The golden rule: You NEVER enter your UPI PIN to receive money. A PIN, a QR scan, or "approve request" is only ever for sending.
The five traps behind most UPI fraud:
- "Wrong payment, please refund" — a stranger sends a collect request disguised as a refund. Approving it sends your money.
- QR code to "receive" — scanning a QR + PIN always pays out, never receives.
- Screen-share apps — no bank ever asks you to install AnyDesk / TeamViewer.
- Fake handles — read the verified name on the confirm screen, not just the UPI ID.
- OTP / PIN over a call — banks never ask. Anyone who does is a fraudster.
याद रखें: पैसे पाने के लिए PIN कभी नहीं लगता। जल्दबाज़ी = खतरे की घंटी।

If money has left your account, act in this exact order — the first hour decides recovery:
- 1930
Call the National Cyber Crime Helpline immediately. Keep your bank account / UPI ID and the transaction details ready. - File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and note the acknowledgement number.
- Call your bank's fraud helpline (on the back of your card); ask to freeze UPI and quote the acknowledgement number.
- Report the fraud number on Chakshu · sancharsaathi.gov.in.
- Keep screenshots of every transaction and chat.
There is no such thing as a "digital arrest". No real police, CBI or ED officer arrests or takes money over a video call. Hang up.
3 · Passwords & Phone Checklist
फ़ोन और खातों को सुरक्षित रखने की आदतें
Do today:
- Turn on two-step verification for WhatsApp, email and banking apps.
- Use a screen lock (PIN / fingerprint) on every phone at home.
- Lock your Aadhaar biometrics in the mAadhaar app.
- Set a family code word for emergency money calls — AI can clone a voice, not your secret.
Never do:
- Never share OTP, UPI PIN or card CVV with anyone.
- Never install an app a caller tells you to.
- Never click payment / KYC links in SMS or WhatsApp.
- Never trust urgency — a genuine matter survives a call-back.
